How a build actually runs

Every build runs the same way, wherever you are: two short calls, one questionnaire and WhatsApp. Here it is step by step, so you know what is being asked of you before you pay anything.

Two calls, and that is it

We do not run workshops or discovery sessions. There are two calls, both on the phone, both short.

  • The first call, twenty minutes. What you do, where you work, what you want more of and what you have already. We tell you which tier fits and what it costs. If it is not us, we say so on this call rather than sending a proposal.
  • The second call, thirty minutes, after the first draft. You have had the link for a few days. We go through it together, page by page, and you tell us what is wrong. Everything after that happens on WhatsApp.

How the words and the photographs get collected

This is the part that decides whether a build takes ten working days or ten weeks. It is almost always the client side that slows it down, so we make it as small a job as we can.

  • A questionnaire, not an essay. One form, mostly short answers. Services, areas, hours, registration numbers, the jobs you want more of and the jobs you would rather stop doing.
  • We write the copy. You do not have to draft the words. We write them from the questionnaire and the call, then you correct anything that is not true or does not sound like you.
  • Photographs by WhatsApp. We send a numbered list of what to shoot, in plain terms. Send them straight from your phone. We handle cropping, straightening and compression.
  • A named list of what is missing. While the build runs you get one message that says exactly what is still outstanding and what it is holding up. No chasing, no vague reminders.

What we need from you, and when

  • Before we start. Deposit cleared, questionnaire back, registration numbers confirmed. The clock starts here and not before.
  • Within the first week. Photographs, your logo if you have one, and access to your domain if it already exists.
  • At the draft stage. One round of corrections, collected in one go rather than in twelve messages. This is the only real deadline on your side.
  • Before launch. Confirmation that the phone number, the email address and the prices on the site are all correct. We ask twice, because this is the thing people get wrong.

How handover works

The domain is registered in your name and the hosting sits in an account in your name, so there is nothing to transfer at the end. That is the point. You get the login details, the code, the image files and a plain English note of what is where. Sack us tomorrow and you keep everything, working, with nothing switched off.

For the smaller products the same principle applies in the form it can. A Google Business Profile sits in your Google account. A Review Engine and a Brand Pack are files and templates handed to you outright. There is no domain, hosting or code involved in those, so there is nothing to hand over beyond the work itself.

How support works afterwards

Send a WhatsApp message. We make the change. There is no ticket system and no portal to log into.

Small text and photograph changes are included for the first month after launch. After that they are either covered by Care at £45 a month, or charged at our hourly rate if you would rather pay as you go. We will always tell you which is cheaper for what you are asking, even when that is the one that earns us less.
